Yoga & Paddle Adventure Retreat
Scotland Yoga & Paddleboard Retreat
Don’t just be here, live it.
Immerse yourself in the wilds of the Cairngorm National Park for 2 full days of yoga, stand-up paddleboarding, relaxation and wholesome food to nourish your soul.
Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms lies The Dell. A remote family-owned lodge, full of character, open fires and stunning views. The perfect place to let go and just be – surrounded by nature.
You’ll start each day with a warming vinyasa flow with Louise followed by a delicious breakfast before you then head out on the water with Barry, who’ll lead you on some magical SUP adventures around the remote lochs and rivers of the Cairngorms. Breathing in the mountain air, absorb and admire the wildlife and stunning autumn scenery paddling on these tranquil waters. There will be plenty of free time each day so you can explore, or can chill out with a book by the fire. In the evenings, Louise will lead you through a mellow, calming yoga practice to wind down before sitting to a long-table dinner together. While away the rest if the evening stargazing next to the fire pit, or cosied up in the tipi.
Made for adventurous souls, this retreat is all about experiencing this unique place to its fullest. Waking up to the sound of birdsong and the breeze, moving your body and calming your mind through yoga, exploring the lochs and seeing the changing colours of the trees.
More about the place:
Nestled in the wilds of the Cairngorms is The Dell @DellofAbernethy – a family estate owned by Polly and Ross Cameron. It’s been in Polly’s family since the 1960’s and they’ve kept the historic feel alive throughout the property; from the contemporary-retro vibe in the main lodge to the sixties Humber car parked in the drive. It is laid-back, welcoming and quirky – just like the owners. You’ll feel like you’re at home here.
More about the food:
Polly will be cooking up wholesome, delicious meals with vegetarian meals and vegan options available. She loves to use local produce so expect an abundance of fresh, local fare.
More about the people:
Both from central Scotland, Barry and Louise have each separately spent time living abroad in Canada and the States, yet somehow keep being called back to Scotland. The place just gets under your skin.
Originally from Stirling, Louise studied her 200 hour Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga in India and is now based between East London and Edinburgh where she incorporates her love of nature and the outdoors into her classes for her city students. Expect creative classes with warming vinyasa flows in the morning and more a relaxed, mellow evening practice to wind down at the end of the day. Louise’s easy-going manner, and patient, uplifting teaching style is guaranteed to put you at ease throughout your practice.
Expert guide and adventurer Barry will lead you on some magical SUP tours around the remote lochs and rivers of Cairngorms. Barry founded Wilderness SUP CO. which curates SUP experiences & adventures that take the client on a journey through the cultural and natural history of Scotland, a place where adventure is life.
